4: Tell us more about your Kickstarter campaign.
Steve – We got the idea of funding on Kickstarter at May of 2016. We prepared for a long time to make a perfect project to show the best Blinkgogo to the customers. We took a month to take demo videos and pictures. Finally, we launched our campaign on September of 2016. Thanks for all the support from our backer, we got success within 24 hours. We will try our best to make Blinkgogo better.
5: What does a day at Blinkgogo look like?
Steve – The first thing that we do when we start our job is to check the messages and email on Kickstarter. Then we check our Facebook and Twitter message and post some news about Blinkgogo on the social networks.
In the afternoon we try to optimize Blinkgogo’s code and board and contact with the factory for manufacturing because we are expecting to start shipping before Christmas.
6: Tell us about the entrepreneurial journey you guys undertook.
Steve – At the beginning, Steve had no experience in running a business so our journey was a little bit tough at that time. We had encountered several project delay issues.
- The first time was when we design the Blinkgogo board and codes.
- The second time was when we prepared our Kickstarter page.
7: We’d love to hear more about how you went about it, what were the opportunities, the challenges, the roadblocks etc.
Steve – To let more kids enjoy robotics and coding is our biggest dream and that’s why we made Blinkgogo. Our Blinkgogo journey is just starting, the Kickstarter funding is the first step.
8: What would be your guru mantra that you’d like to give to budding entrepreneurs for funding?
Steve – Crowdfunding is a good way for start-ups to raise early capital and let more customer meet our product. We need to make more effort to prepare the funding. The page should be able to show the perfect product and a real product. We should be honest because if we lie to customers, people will know.
9: And finally, if given a chance to reach out to all the entrepreneurs and wantrepreneurs out there, what will you tell them?
Steve – We should be a good man and do some good things to the world. We should be honest to our customer and show the real product. And finally, just try your best to make the perfect product!
